Date:

February 7th -10th    Plan on arriving on the 7th and departing on the 10th
Classes will be held all day Friday and Saturday
Lodging:

All participants will be housed at the AYRES SUITES HOTEL on Holt Blvd. in Ontario

This hotel is very nice and we have used for all past Universities.
It is convenient to airport and offers airport pickup and drop off.
A full hot breakfast cooked to order is included with your stay.
Travel:
Plan on arriving at Ontario, California airport anytime on the 7th.
If you are an early arrival the hotel offers shuttle service up to the extremely large Ontario Mills Mall if you want to kill some time.
Nightscaping representatives will be staying with our and will be visible in the lobby of the hotel in late afternoon into evening. Get to know some of these folks while you are visiting.
Participants are responsible for their own air travel to and from Ontario. We will provide transportation to and from Nightscaping®
If you plan on trying to get home Saturday evening we suggest that you schedule flight no earlier than 8:00 PM as end of class plus travel to airport will make earlier departure questionable.
Dress:

Nightscaping® is a very informal company. We expect you to dress comfortably as these will be long days. Jeans are the norm.
A light jacket or sweater is also helpful as we do get some chilly days and nights at this time of the year.
Class materials:

We supply all of the learning manuals and ask that you come equipped with a notebook and writing implements.
Cameras are welcome and we ask that if you do have one you bring it with you along with a cable release for your camera.
Curriculum:

Nightscaping University® pioneered the concept of intense outdoor lighting education for the contractor back in the late 90's. The curriculum was developed over the years to cover each facet of building and owning a successful outdoor lighting business. Copied and given away by others to the point where we decided to take a couple of years off. Now that we have seen the success of these "free" universities dwindle we have decided to once again offer our proven program. While in California you will see true MADE IN AMERICA products fabricated and assembled from scratch. Though the tour is a highlight for many it is only one of many unforgettable experiences. You will spend time exploring lamps and fixtures in application at our design center. Also included will be classroom instruction on the following subjects.

Design of simple through complex projects

Advanced design techniques

A thorough understanding of light and its principles

Electrical theory and basic electricity and its dangers

Transformer construction and Evaluation

Fixture selection and placement

Custom applications and design of custom fixtures for you and the process involved

Code both UL and local code requirements and licensing

Job costing and estimating for a profit

Designing cable runs that work now and later

Installation practices that withstand the test of time

Photographing your outdoor lighting projects [hence the cameras]

Marketing and Advertising your newfound skills
Developing your lighting team that will lead you to profitability

All in all a very jam packed LONG two days that will have you exhausted and excited at the same time. Classroom sessions will be taught by Nightscaping® Employees and guest lecturers who are eminently qualified to bring you the most learned and up to date thinking on the issues that affect your business.

Lastly you will officially become part of the Nightscaping® family of successful lighting designers and installers who continue to share with one another daily their ups and occasional downs while helping you avoid pitfalls and realize success more quickly than your competition. Come join us on the road to being truly profitable.
