New Fixtures for 2007-2008

September 18th, 2008 · No Comments

Apprentice  Was designed to fill a gap in our product line following many requests by contractors and specifiers. The new uplight comes standard with a louver, MR-16 lamp, adjustable knuckle, adjustable eyebrow, and most importantly you can change the lamp without any tools. This fixture is light weight, durable, sleek and unique

Masonliter  allows you to easily illuminate dark steps, walls, and walkways, and are quick and easy to install during the construction process.  The fixtures can be mounted under stair treads, under seatwall caps, or used to illuminate any masonry wall system by simply installing between masonry layers. The unique design projects light down a wall in a grazing fashion that brings out the beautiful colors and texturs while simulatneaously illuminating the ground.

JEM-Liter  20 years of patient experimentation and listening to our contractors has resulted in the introduction of this new downlighting fixture.  The WM-0207CU JEM-Liter offers a visually sleek and refined profile.

Ideal Liter  This Asian style lantern warmly illuminates the landscape while downlighting large shrubs and plant material. Solid copper creates a strong frame for frosted plexiglas which gives off the illusion of rice paper. Accentuate your landscape in style with the Ideal-Liter.

Miniwasher   Get a lot of effect from a little fixture. Perfect for areas where other fixtures just won’t fit. The Miniwash hides nicely behind plant materials, pots, statues, fountains or any other landscape element yet produces dramatic results. Spectacular backlighting and silhouettes, as well as soft highlighting of specimen items are just a few of the many uses for the Miniwash fixture.

Post Belliter  Accent beams and walls with a Colonial style bell while simultaneously downlighting patios and walkways. Nightscaping’s® new Post Belliter is scaled for large spaces and puts out a wide beam of light. It’s simple design makes it appropriate for both formal and informal spaces.

Post Jumboliter  Nightscaping’s® new Post-Jumboliter is a slightly larger version of the Postliter, adequately filling larger spaces. The solid copper creates a durable frame and classy style appropriate for many applications. Specify the Post-Jumboliter to accent walls, downlight walkways and patios, or illuminate steps and staircases.

Savoy  Nostalgic, elegant WOW!  1920’s romance is in the air with this nostalgic throwback fixture.  Replace the carriage lights in the front or rear of your house and either side of your garage with this glare-free beauty.  Liven up your patio or anywhere a wall mounted fixture is needed.  Restaurants, businesses, either side of a driveway entry gate…the possibilities are endless.  This charming fixture relives the excitement and romance of the roaring 20’s.

Shariliter  Create soft, romantic pools of light on garden pathways, walks, flowerbeds & planters. This sleek, compact fixture virtually disappears in the landscape, leaving only it’s beautiful effect. The power of a bigger fixture is packed into this small, dynamic copper fixture. This small fixture fits into compact planter beds, raised planters, pots…anywhere the power of a larger fixture is needed but won’t fit…this fixture is the perfect solution.

Starliter Oasisliter   is a combination of mixed Starliters. The sparkling light output and loose movement from trees and wind makes this an informal fixture perfect for many situations. Specify the Oasisliter in a large tree with a mix of other Starliters for a dazzling display.

St Claireliter  Nightscaping’s® new St. Claireliter, a smaller variation of the St. Claire Grandiosa, is perfect to use on pillar tops and walls for grand entrances and formal outdoor living spaces. The copper top and copper powder-coated base makes for an attractive combination of colors, with a white underside providing for the best light reflection

St Claireliter Grandiosa  The solid brass base of the St. Claire Grandiosa makes for a sturdy build and elegant contrast to it’s copper top. The underside of the top is powder-coated white for a bright reflection of light. The St. Claire Grandiosa is scaled for large pillars, walls, and driveway entrances.

To Bill my boss, mentor and friend

December 28th, 2007 · 1 Comment

When Bill passed away Nightscaping employees and friends started sending photos to nightchat. I decided to make a small Flash presentation of all the photos we got along with some special photos I found.

I remember about a year ago Bill had a meeting on a Sat where most of Nightscaping employees were ask to attend. Near the end of the meeting, Bill asked each of us how we can improve our jobs by 10 percent. I told him I would learn new programs for the website, as a result I learn how to use WordPress which allowed me to share this information.

I hope you enjoy this site and the small video as much as I did putting it together.

SEIZE THE MOMENT

December 21st, 2007 · 1 Comment

Back in 2005 Bill sent us this e-mail with his Christmas wishes. I was reading and thought it was very appropriate today as well. Bill would want all of us to mourn his passing but would be very dissapointed in us if we forgot this message he so beleived in.  I wish each of you a very Merry Christmas and hope this helps bring you peace. Rob

Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven’t thought about it, don’t have it on their schedules, didn’t know it was coming, or were too rigid to depart from their routines.  I got to thinking one day about all those women on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut  back. Ever since, I’ve tried to be a little more flexible. How many women out there will eat at home because their husbands  didn’t suggest going out to dinner until after something was thawed? Does the word “refrigeration” mean anything to you?

How often have your kids dropped in to talk and sat in silence while  you watched “Jeopardy” on television?

I cannot count the times I called my sister and said, “How about  going to lunch in half an hour?” She would gasp and stammer, “I  can’t.”

 Check one:

“I have clothes in the dryer.”

“My hair is a mess.”

“I wish I had known yesterday.”

 ”I had a late breakfast.”

 ”It looks like rain.”

And my personal favorite: “It’s Monday.”

My sister died a few years ago. We never did have lunch together. Because we Americans cram so much into our lives, we tend to schedule our headaches. We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all the conditions are perfect. We’ll go back and visit the grandparents when we get Stevie toilet trained. We’ll  entertain when we replace the living room carpet. We’ll go on a  second honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college.

Life has a way of accelerating as we get older. The days get shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves gets longer. One morning we awaken, and all we have to show for our lives is a litany of “I’m going to,” “I plan on,” and “Some day when things settle down a bit.”

When anyone calls my seize-the-moment friend, she is open to adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. You talk with her for  five minutes and you’re ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of  roller blades and skip the elevator for a bungee cord.

Seize-the-moment and make this Holiday the BEST ONE EVER take some  time to really get-to-know your family and friends Go a little slower–make an extra phone call–have cookies and coffee with a friend, a neighbor,a son or a daughter. Don’t let another day go by without showing someone you care. Merry Christmas to All—and to All

 A Loving Life!!!!!!!

Earlier this morning Bill Locklin was called home. I ask each of you, his dear friends, to pray for him, his wife Lavesta, and, all his family during this sad time.  I encourage you to remember all of his good works, kind deeds, words of encouragement, sage advice, and direct challenges to be better at everything in your life.Family meant a lot to Bill and you were all part of his extended family. Bill was like a second dad to me as I know he was to many of you. I grieve along with you. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Rob

I thought I would share with you all the most recent photo I have of Bill.  I took this photo last December, 2006 when I had the opportunity for a short visit.

James

Thanks for sharing that picture James.  You inspired me to attach this picture for all to enjoy of Bill at the Feb 2006 University.
