Innovative Control
Innovative control for landscape lighting systems is another way to satisfy a customer. Recent tools such as the DOMINATOR, CONTROL PRO, and the T-12-RELAY, have provided many contractors and architects with that little something extra. The Dominator has been a standard tool used by the great Phoenix architect Luis Salazar. A master of contemporary design, Luis uses the Dominator to allow for different scenes within the lighting design to be viewed on the architecture as well as the landscape.
Peoria Arizona contractor Lance Billings of Desert Rain Landscape has used the Dominator on the majority of his jobs. Lance has built a magnificent pond that was big enough to swim in. After a heron began eating the prized KOI, Lance worked out a system using the dominator and 3 motion sensors to turn on a sprinkler valve which triggered 3 impact sprinklers. When the heron arrived after that, it received a rude welcome, and has not been back since.
Steve & Brian Gold of LET THERE BE LIGHT in Cave Creek, AZ, swear by the Control Pro. The Golds focus on maintenance and repair of existing systems. The Majority of their clients are seasonal residents who don't have time to reset timers or regularly maintain their systems. The Control pro is the solution for these and other clients who wish to have a worry free system.
Recently I have had the opportunity to use all three of these in conjunction with each other. The customer had certain lights for security that he wished to be on from dusk to dawn in 3 areas for remote capability and 1 area for a special effect.
One of our T-1000-SS-PS 1000 Watt Powercenters(TM) was recently installed in an outdoor utility room next to a DO-8900 stand alone Dominator. A T-12-relay was also installed out in the yard by the water feature controls. We used the yellow terminal block of the T-1000 to provide the security dusk-to-dawn lighting as well as to power the Dominator system and send power to the T-12-relay. The black, red, and blue terminal blocks of the Powercenter(TM) were switched through the Dominator system, along with the T-12-Relay. The effect created in the evening was astounding. We set the Control Pro module from a dusk to dawn operation, and set the Dominator on a 5 second test mode. This allowed for the security lights to be on all night and allowed the customer to control his backlighting, uplighting and downlighting with the Dominator. The customer used the T-12-relay to power two strings of Italian Bistro 120 volt lights that were strung across the yard. The customer ended up with a beautiful backyard paradise.

Dear Mr. Locklin,
I am writing to share my experience with you and your company. I had difficulty with my Nightscaping system and called your 800 number. MISAEL ITZEP was professional, knowledgeable, wonderfully calm and patient and helped me to troubleshoot the problem. It was a pleasure to deal with him. Then, I called KEVIN SMITH, your Rep here in Arizona and since he was in the area, he brought the new parts and installed them for me. He too was professional and pleasant and calm. You are very fortunate to have these two gentlemen in your employ. I would recommend your product to anyone putting in a system because of the incredible customer service you have.
Sincerely,
Geraldine Koen
