Verde Finish |

Nightscaping®
stands the test of time. We also speed it up with regard to
some of our fixtures and one finish in particular. The copper
verde finish Nightscaping® offers is derived from a field
tested and proven age accelerating process. The copper verde
finish is not a paint, powder coat, lacquer or anything else
for that matter. The finish results from a highly controlled
production process that actually speeds up the natural aging
of copper and brass. |

Nightscaping® has formulated an exclusive, environmentally friendly chemical
solution that ages specified copper fixtures decades (with
regard to color and appearance) in a matter of days. The solution
is applied in a sterile, temperature and humidity controlled
environment. Each copper verde fixture is finished by hand
and specially cured. Once the fixture has gone through this
initial age acceleration, it is then coated with a clear protective
solution to shield it from harmful UV rays until the natural
aging process can take over. |
The
time it takes for copper to age and take on the natural gray-green
patina is dependent on the environment in which a copper fixture
is installed. Therefore, Nightscaping® takes all possible
steps to insure that the copper-verde fixtures we provide
have an aged looking pre-patina
resilient to the elements yet still susceptible to the natural
processes that age copper and modify its color. Again the
timing and overall mechanisms of this process depend on uncontrollable
environmental variables like weather, temperature, humidity,
and human interference or animal contact. However, regardless
of location the final result is a naturally aged copper fixture
with a beautiful gray-green patina that looks very similar
to the pre-patina in place when the fixture was originally
shipped. |

One thing that is truly special about this finishing process
is that each copper verde fixture is given its own particular
character. Because we are simulating an organic process no
two fixture finishes are exactly the same. Although they maintain
the same color and design, there are minute differences that
mimic the natural aging of copper to near perfection. The
production of these fixtures, including the age accelerating
process, is intensely monitored by trained and experienced
technicians. This attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship
allows us to guarantee the quality construction and outstanding
color finish the outdoor lighting community has come to expect
from Nightscaping’s® copper verde fixtures.
